Bringing together a distinguished group of filmmakers and industry voices, this wide-ranging conversation explores one of the defining questions facing every filmmaker: how do you finance a film? 6-time BAFTA-winner, Adam Gee, is joined by award-winning and acclaimed director, Sophie Fiennes, and GHOSTBUSTERS documentary filmmakers, Claire and Anthony Bueno, for an insightful discussion on the realities of raising money for projects of every scale. From self-financing and crowdfunding to grants, investment and alternative funding models, the panel examines the opportunities, challenges and responsibilities that accompany each route. ADAM GEE is a highly experienced Commissioning Editor and Executive Producer, specialising in multi-platform and digital-first content. He is Head of Documentary Campus Masterschool in Berlin, a prestigious documentary incubator. He has won over 90 international awards for his productions, including 6 BAFTAs, an Emmy, 3 Royal Television Society awards and the Grand Award at the New York International Film & Television Festival. He has also won the Media Guardian Innovation award and the RTS Innovation award. Previously he was a Commissioning Editor at CAA (L.A.), Channel 4 (London), Red Bull Media House (Salzburg) and Little Dot Studios (where he was their first commissioner of original programming). In addition, he was Head of Content at award-winning UK indie Doc Hearts and consulted for Ridley Scott Creative Group. Adam has served on BAFTA’s Television and Interactive Entertainment committees, and is a voting member of the European Film Academy. He is an Honorary Fellow of NUA (Norwich University of the Arts) “for services to the UK Broadcast and Interactive Media industry”.
