In 1982 Sir Clive Sinclair released the ZX Spectrum home computer, selling millions of units worldwide and quickly becoming one of the most important technological developments of its time. The ZX Spectrum's accessibility meant many people learned to program and create their own games, kicking off the British Video Games Industry in the 1980’s.
